Meet Claire and Aaron
Barker Scott is run by Claire and Aaron, business partners who have spent their careers in healthcare and regulation. Between them they have built, registered and run their own CQC-compliant healthcare businesses, so when we talk about the CQC journey, we are talking from experience rather than theory.
Claire has worked in medical healthcare for more than 20 years. In that time she has helped a wide range of businesses achieve CQC registration, including two of her own, both of which she has taken through registration and kept compliant year after year. She spent many of those years as a private healthcare clinic manager, so she understands what compliance actually looks like on the ground when you are the one responsible for it. Having lived that side of the business, Claire recently moved into CQC consultancy to help others do the same.
Aaron has over a decade of experience in government regulation and is a qualified risk assessor. He has worked in private healthcare for years and has helped a number of healthcare businesses achieve and then maintain their CQC compliance. Where Aaron really adds value is in making compliance workable. Anyone can write a policy or a risk assessment; Aaron writes them so that staff can actually understand and follow them in their day-to-day work, which is what keeps a service compliant long after the paperwork is signed off.
Why we set up Barker Scott
Claire and Aaron own two healthcare companies together. After helping business after business get their CQC registration and hold onto it, going into consultancy as a team felt like the natural next step.
